The IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship announced a rescheduled date of the previously postponed Acura Sports Car Grand Prix at Mid-Ohio and is juggling race dates for two other late-season events.
The Mid-Ohio race weekend, originally scheduled for May 1-3, is now set to take place the weekend of Sept. 25-27.
Meanwhile, IMSA’s Monterey SportsCar Championship at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca has been moved up one week, to Sept. 4-6, after being originally being scheduled for Sept. 11-13. That move became necessary to accommodate IMSA teams and drivers who plan to race at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, which was postponed from June to its new date of Sept. 19-20.
And finally, for now anyway, IMSA has moved its Motul Petit Le Mans at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta back one week to Oct. 14-17.
IMSA hopes to return to racing May 29-30 at Belle Isle in Detroit for its part of the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear.
Previously purchased tickets for all four events will be valid on the new dates for race weekends at Mid-Ohio, WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca and at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.
